The Rules of the Game

This text has many interesting, relevant and logical points. It makes sense.
The points which got me thinking thought relate back to the government.
"Government policies and communications on climate change must be consistent" and "make climate change a 'home' not 'away' issue." I agree with this points and think that the government should be doing much more in relation to climate change. It is happening now, and is happening to us, here at home. Can't the government see that?! It's as simple as looking at our dwindling water supply! (To which the only policies put into place are restrictions, and to which also there are no plans from the government on how we will sustain or increase our water supply in the future.)
Goverment policies as well should be much more cosiderate of the global climatic state, not just revenue. I read in the newspaper a few weeks ago that a man was considering giving back an environmental award he had been presented by the government after hearing of the Prime Minister saying that the economy, and industry profits are more important than the environment and environmental issues. Now honestly, how can you be giving out awards to people for helping the environment when, for one, you don't, and for two, you think there are more important things anyway...where is the consistency?
